Saori Yamada is Controller, Finance at LevelTen. In honor of Women’s History Month, and celebrating the amazing women of LevelTen, Saori shared her career journey, her best advice, the importance of soft skills, and more!
What do you enjoy most about your current role?
Wearing multiple hats and building out new processes that scale.
Can you share a brief overview of your career journey and how you arrived at your current role?
I am a firm supporter of early stage technology companies and have a passion for building out processes and procedures to scale with the growth of a company. I have historical experience with PwC and Intuit. I believe in building a sustainable environment for our future generations!
What inspired you to pursue a career in your field?
I wanted to be an entrepreneur and make smart financial decisions for the company.
What accomplishments are you most proud of in your career?
Everything I have done to get here.
What advice do you have for other women who are aspiring to succeed in your field?
I am still working on being successful. It is important to have solid hard skills in finance but, in order to be truly successful and work outside of your function, you should also work hard on your soft skills and be willing to share your experience and talk to everyone about what you do.
How do you think companies can best celebrate and support women in the workplace during Women’s History Month and beyond?
I think we can best support women by continuing to talk about women in the workforce and focus on diversity and inclusion.
