The Values Awards program is designed to honor individuals who exemplify our core company values through their actions and achievements. Each quarter, we will focus on one of our four company values, providing an opportunity for employees to nominate their colleagues who demonstrate exceptional dedication to that particular value. Tristan was honored for embodying LevelTen's value of "Instigating Progress." Congratulations, Tristan!
To celebrate Tristan's win, he took some time from his busy schedule to share more about his work at LevelTen and how he leads with LevelTen's values in mind:
Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your role at LevelTen?
I am LevelTen’s resident Canadian – I grew up in Victoria, BC. I have been at LevelTen for 3 years working on the Renewable Energy Developer side of the platform. My job is to ensure they are successful using the products and services that LevelTen offers, and channeling their feedback to the right teams internally to ensure that we respond to the ever-changing market dynamics. I enjoy long walks in the mountains and flashlight lit dinners in my spare time.
How long have you been with the company and what initially drew you here?
I was drawn to LevelTen by the chance to make an impact at scale and the team at LevelTen. I was sold when I learned about the products but it was meeting the team, a rare combination of funny, kind, motivated, and smart people that sealed the deal.
What makes LTE a unique company to work for?
The people! As I mentioned, this was one of the primary reasons that I joined the team and it continues to make it an exciting and, dare I say it, FUN place to work.
Congratulations on winning the Values Award for "Instigating Progress"! What does this recognition mean to you?
I am so honored to be recognized by the folks around me. I do my best to show up every day and match the level of focus, intensity, and drive that I see around me. I’m trying to keep up with the level of excellence I see around me and I really appreciate the recognition from the team
How do you approach innovation and change within your role? Are there any particular strategies or methods you find effective in driving innovation and change?
I try to be curious about new things and try to take every opportunity to learn from the smart people I work with. Along with curiosity, it’s openness and sharing that can spark new ideas that can help us to accelerate the energy transition.
Collaboration often plays a key role in progress. How do you foster a collaborative environment within your team or department?
While perhaps a cliche, it’s important to remember that we’re all a team. Whether it’s folks on the team or across departments, everybody has their own set of priorities. Our goal is to ensure that we are in alignment and all trying to accomplish the same thing.
What advice would you give to your peers who aspire to instigate progress and make a difference?
Be creative, be bold, and roll up your sleeves! If you see think that there might be an opportunity to do something differently, give it a try.
