Bryce Smith

Founder & CEO

An industry professional with nearly 20 years’ experience evaluating renewable energy trends, technologies, and projects, Bryce has demonstrated success designing and leading new ventures. In 2009, Bryce co-founded OneEnergy Renewables, a leading national developer of utility-scale solar projects, raising seed, Series A, and Series B rounds, and guiding the company to profitability. Prior to founding OneEnergy, Bryce led the Bonneville Environmental Foundation’s nationwide investment in clean power projects, developing more than 160 solar projects in 16 states and establishing the highly acclaimed Solar 4R Schools program.

Bill Thomas

Chief Commercial Officer

Bill joined LevelTen from First Solar, an international leader in solar manufacturing and development, where he headed Global C&I Origination. In this role, Bill led First Solar’s C&I sales, negotiation, and customer relations efforts, delivering utility-scale solutions to large, multinational corporations. Prior to joining First Solar, Bill was the VP of Development & Energy Marketing at E.ON Climate & Renewables, and worked for 10 years as Senior Energy Trader for Xcel Energy.

Matthew Orendorff

Director of Strategy

Matt joined LevelTen from NRG Energy, where he served as Managing Director of Investor Relations and Director of Strategy-M&A & Venture Capital. In these roles, Matt was integral to several transformative transactions for the company, including NRG’s merger with GenOn and the acquisition of several companies that precipitated the rise of NRG Yield. Previously, Matt spent a decade at Constellation Energy, holding various finance and treasury strategy roles.

Eric Snyder

Chief Technology Officer

Eric is an innovative software development leader and brings to LevelTen twenty years of  hands-on experience delivering software-as-a-service. Eric has managed teams spanning Engineering, Operations, QA and UX while leading the design and development of numerous applications ranging from insurance and financial applications to advanced consumer apps harnessing machine learning. Eric received four patents for his designs related to automating business workflows and the most recent consumer app he developed was featured live on the Today show and recognized as one of the best back-to-school apps by Wired editors. Before joining LevelTen, Eric served as Chief Technology Officer at Gatheredtable and prior to that he served as Vice President of Product Development at Vertafore.

Chris Watmore

Director of Analytics

Chris cut his teeth in the energy industry as a utility scale solar developer working several years in the areas of project finance, siting, and energy analytics at OneEnergy Renewables.  He most recently spent time as an energy analyst and consultant with Level Ten’s close partner, Portland based EnergyGPS.  Chris has also served as a military intelligence analyst for the U.S. Army.

Vicky Eriksson

Director of Executive Operations

Vicky Eriksson is an accomplished entrepreneur, having previously founded two successful learning and development companies. Vicky has supported the scaling of a number of businesses, and possesses a wide range of skills, including operations management, project management, planning, writing, and research. She holds a Bachelor of Arts, with majors in Psychology and Linguistics from Rhodes University in her native South Africa.

Rob Collier

Director of Developer Relations

Rob leads LevelTen’s engagement with project developers. Prior to joining LevelTen, Rob spent four years in various capacities, most recently as a director of development, with OneEnergy Renewables, a utility-scale solar developer. While at OneEnergy, Rob managed portfolios of pre-construction solar assets in the New York and the Mid-Atlantic markets. His development experience includes offtake origination, project sales, state and local permitting, interconnection management, land contracting and landowner relationships, and policy advocacy. Rob received a MBA from Cornell University.

Liza Reines

Director of Business Operations

Liza supports Level Ten’s operational systems company-wide. Liza brings more than a decade of experience in developing and managing business operations and accounting systems in mission-driven emerging companies and non-profit organizations, and is passionate about creating great work places.

Liza received a B.A. in Psychology and Political Science from Western Washington University.

Orhan Demirel

Software Engineer

Orhan is a Software Engineer with more than 6 years of experience delivering software-as-a-service applications. He also worked as a Research Assistant in Computer Engineering Department at Yasar University, Turkey.  Before joining LevelTen, Orhan served as a Senior Software Engineer at Vertafore.

He holds Ph.D. in Mathematics from Ege University, Turkey.

Mark DesMeules

2017 Intern

Mark conducts renewable energy research and market analysis for LevelTen. Prior to joining LevelTen, he spent over four years working on technology and trade policy in Washington, DC. Mark also has experience working with utilities to understand the financial and operational impact that electric vehicles will have on the grid.

Mark earned his undergraduate degree in economics and international relations from Connecticut College and is in the process of obtaining his MBA from Cornell University.

Timothy Belden

Strategic Partner and Principal at Energy GPS LLC

Energy GPS is a leading energy market analysis firm, specializing in sophisticated energy data dissection and interpretation. Energy GPS supplies IPPs, traders, and other major industry players with the in-depth analysis required to make well-informed investment decisions regarding a range of energy businesses, including wholesale and retail power and natural gas markets, wind integration, project development, transmission, and energy policy. Energy GPS Principals, Tim Belden and Jeff Richter, are highly regarded for their wealth of trading and policy experience, for their facility with numbers, and for their first-rate valuation and risk analyses. Between them, Tim and Jeff bring years of technology and trading experience earned at Enron, UBS, the Williams Companies, and UBS, among others.

Rob Harmon

Advisor

A serial environmental entrepreneur and energy policy expert, Rob has earned a reputation for creating practical, scalable alternatives to outdated and entrenched transactions structures. His significant accomplishments include the introduction of the Retail Renewable Energy Certificate (REC or Green Tag), the co-development of the Water Restoration Certificate, and the co-development of the Metered Energy Efficiency Transaction Structure (MEETS).

Harry A. Warren, Jr.

Advisor

Harry A. Warren, Jr. brings to LevelTen broad energy market and customer expertise. Now President of CleanGrid Advisors, he was formerly Executive VP of Community Energy, and served as President of Washington Gas Energy Services, a leading retail electricity and natural gas marketer, from 1997 to 2014. He serves on the Board of Directors of the National Energy Marketers Association and of the Maryland-DC-Virginia Solar Energy Industry Association.
